Mahesh, a stage artiste, receives a telegram of his father’s last hours on the stage but he refuses to leave the play half way, and goes home after the show is over.

His father takes a promise from his son that after his death he would try for his sister’s marriage in a big reputed family.

One day his friend Jago takes him to half mad Garage owner who is bachelor, and there he finds a prince named Sunil, the son of Sardar Gajraj Singh Ghansu, the owner of the State Dhansu. He finds that he is yet to marry but he is helpless to reach his goal.

Again he accepts the stage, for he can get a King’s dress to approach the Sardar. After the show Mahesh and Jago run away with the dress.

The play is arranged. They like Mahesh Chandra and his presentation.

Mangni is being fixed at the Girnar Bungalow of Mahesh’s friend Jeevan, who has purchased the bungalow from Mahesh’s father.

Here table takes turn and Jeevan creates a liking for Kala. He arranges to call Kala here and tries to rape her. Mahesh comes to know this game and reaches here in time to save his sister, after a tough fight Mahesh takes away Kala by defeating Jeevan.

Jeevan, in jealousy informs Sardar Gajrajsingh the fact behind the game of Mahesh-and Sardar goes to Mahesh’s chawl to see his original state of 10” x 12”.

Sagai breaks up. Mother advises to leave the idea of big family and go for a poor boy, but Kala refuses to think of any other man. She joins the AIR as radio singer.

Here Sunil’s sister hears the songs of Kala and insists upon to learn the music from the same lady.

Sunil goes to Radio station to call Kala now Rekha and makes her ready to teach the music to his sister.

After a few days Sunil is engaged to the daughter of a big business man, Gauri Shankar Ghaswalla. His mother informs Rekha and lightning falls upon her-She stops the work and goes away. Sunil follows her and takes her to a lonely place and confirms that he is madly in love with her, he will not marry any girl other than Rekha. Sunil meets her daily-Mahesh brings Gauri Shankar Gahswalla to show his to be son-in-law engaged in low class love with a music teacher.

Sunil’s magni breaks up this way. Now Sunil’s mother sends Sardar to Mahesh to accept Kala as their daughter-in-law.

Mahesh is puzzled in this situation as how to avoid this confusion-he finds a way.

Rekha tells Sunil to bring the permission of his father for their marriage or she will commit suicide in the river. Sunil promises her that if he would not bring permission, would join in her suicide at 9 o’clock night.

What happened at 9 o’clock? What was the final game of Mahesh to reach his goal?

These interesting questions will be answered on the silver screen of ‘ALBELA’.
